~Jeweled Wall Art~

I thought these were pretty neat!! If anyone's needing to dress-up any dull wall, then check out these jeweled re-positionable stickers designed by Rhonna Farrer that can be used again and again! I really like the lamp one.... this would be great in my bedroom to make some extra room on my side table. And if I don't like it there or want it to be gone then I just pull it off. Also, a neat idea was to put one of the frames around a light switch cover to glam it up! I really liked this thought. I would really like to purchase one but I need to save for this car, so oh Well. If you want to check out more on these stickers click HERE. So what do you think of them?

On another thought~ I have decided to enter my little girl in the Tiny Tot Fair pageant show that happens tonight!! So, wish her luck please!!

Well, the day isn't looking too bright....so I decided to post bright pictures instead. Last night my car decided to pretty much blow up on me. Now, I am stuck and need to buy a new car because I don't want to sink more money on this high-mileage car. I don't know what to actually get. I am thinking a Ford Fusion or Toyota Camry....but it doesn't really matter just as long as it runs. Wish me luck on finding something good~

Vintage Tins ~ Trays ~ Treats ~

Via: HERE

I tell you I never used to be into vintage items at all when I was in my teens.....in fact I hated anything of this sort, but now I can't get enough. I think it's funny how much your taste for things change over time. Just like the color pink too, I couldn't stand anything with this color and now I want it everywhere. I wonder if in a few more years down the road if my taste will change again? Probably so....

~Dreaming~

Wouldn't this be nice to have lunch at such a beautiful setting and then lay out by the beach!! We are going to Flordia in a few months, so in the meantime I will keep dreaming. Also, by the way I still have not gotten back my little girl's Princess party photos because I had two cameras so I was taking from both and didn't use all the film on them. Plus, I don't think I got any real photos of the decorations, but hopefully my family did. It was a crazy day but I'll still get some photos up at least......I hope soon. I will have to take some more photos just so I can get them back if that makes any sense.

Via: Here

On another note: I am not sure if I am liking my new polka-dot background??? I can't decide....I don't know- What do you all think?? Yes or No. Or Yes, but the purple background was better. I have been looking around to see if I can find some other backgrounds but I haven't came up with much. If you know of any good sites please let me know. Thanks

~For the love of Lily~

......Lilly Pulitzer that is!!!
~It all started with a simple Shift Dress~
and a juice stand...
Lilly first started selling lemonade to earn money in starting her clothing company!
I am sure many of you are familiar with Lilly's clothing... but here is a grand opening of one of her stores. Wish I could have been there!!! I've never actually been in one of her stores. I just love the colorful vibe she has going on.

Don't this just make you want to grab a yummy treat from here and then go relax on the pink couch just enjoying the atmosphere and maybe some people watching.

~Real Life Barbie House~

I'm Back!!!! This weekend was crazy.......but so much fun! I will post photos whenever I get them back, but first take a look at this Life-Size Barbie House! I know this is probably old news to most, but I still had to post it. In honor of Barbie turning 50 in March, a birthday was thrown in a real Barbie Malibu house designed my Jonathan Adler. Celebrities came out to celebrate the event! I would have died to have gone to this event. I love Barbie and all of this being real and life size just makes it oh so much fun!!! Also, in September 2009 Jonathan Adler is launching a line of Barbie things, such as a pink candle made to smell as if you were in Barbie's actual home called Malibu. So I will have to defiantly check it out. To find out more things about Barbie click here.

For the chandelier in this photo, barbie's hair was used to make it....something like 30 wigs. Hair tassels were also made for use on the table lamps.

I love this Barbie Fabric. Would anyone know if it can be purchased or ordered online anywhere?? I would love to get it.

The centerpiece mirror above the fireplace was made out of 65 Barbie Dolls.

Over 200 yards of fabric were used for this room!

I wish I could have been at this Barbie Party!! It's so neat.....love all these decorations!!!

Wallpaper or Curtains?- I am assumming

Barbie's hair keeps getting lighter, her skin has a tan and I am sure they have made her skinnier too! Don't you just have this love/hate for Barbie!!

~Pretty Outdoor Decor~

Happy Friday Everyone! Lovely and elegant decor set-up for a wedding. I'm guessing this like spot is set up just for the Bride & groom! This would be how I would imagine my wedding reception outside. So Dreamy!!!Does anyone have plans this weekend? Tomorrow is the Kentucky Derby here! I was planning to go to Oaks but with the rainy & not too warm weather we have decided not to go plus I am kinda worried about the Swine Flu. There will so many people traveling from different states just to come to the Derby, so it's pretty scary.

~Party Princess~

Well, I have decided to do a Princess Theme Party for my little girls birthday! Let me know what you think and if anyone knows any good websites to visit for inspiration please let me know! I would really appreciate it.

I don't plan to do these type of cupcakes but I do want a 3-tier to hold the cupcakes like the Princess ones above.

Don't you just love these candles? They are so great!!

I really love the glass decoration for extra light at night, but I'm not too sure since there will be kids hanging around, so maybe I can put it up high or just not light them. I don't know yet. I might not even do it.

I love the idea above of the canned goods that they recycled and wrapped with decorative paper. I believe I am going to do with but with some pretty pink princess paper to hold the forks and so forth.

I've decided I want to serve a few foods to match the color theme. I love those pink and white strawberries and all the pink candies in the glass bowls & containers. Also, in the last photo I like the idea of serving pink Lemonade and those chocolate-pink colored pretezels are so cute! So, overall I am hoping it's going to be a fun and pretty party that she will enjoy!

~Princess or Alice in Wonderland Party~

My little girl's 2an birthday is coming up and I want to throw her a really cute and fun Party! I am back and forth on a princess or Alice theme. I think I am leaning more towards the Princess since it seems to be easier to find things to go with this theme, but Alice would be so neat, too! What do you all think?

Via: Cheesecake & Cupcakes

I would love to buy some of these decorations displayed in the first 2 photos, so if anyone has any information about them, please let me know. I would really appreciate it.

Is there a Mary-Jane behind Mary Jane Shoes?

While looking through an old copy of Real Simple magazine I came across this article on strange-but-true questions with stories behind the clothes and accessories you know and love. I thought some were interesting- that's if your into fashion- so I thought I would share. Have a Great Weekend~

Is there a real Mary Jane behind Mary Jane Shoes? Not quite: The most widely held theory is that the single-strapped footwear was named for a character in "Buster Brown," a children's comic that was popular in the early 1900's. Mary Jane was either Buster's Sweetheart or Sister, depending on which source you consult.

Why is underwear nicknamed "drawers"? In the 16th century, drawers became a common term for both women and men's underpants. Made of linen, the items were no-frills and looked more or less interchangeable ( decorative lace trim started appearing on the garments only in the middle of the 19th century). Most likely, underwear earned this distinctly unsexy epithet because it describes the way that people put on their unmentionables- drawing them up and over the lower part of the body.

How did the trend for pointed-toe shoes start? Manolo Who? Pointed shoes were favored by Polish nobles, who introduced the fashion to England on a diplomatic visit in the 1300s. The shoes, dubbed "crackowes" or "poulaines"- after Krakow, Poland- were so long that a chain running from the toe to the knee was often required to keep them from dragging. In 1363 the English attempted to rein in the look by law, assigning shoe spans to social classes. Commoners could sport footwear with toes of up to six inches, while those in the royal ranks were allowed a full two feet in length.

Who was the first person known to have pierced ears? No one knows who originated the style, but there's evidence that as early as 2500B.C. Sumerian women wore pierced earrings- gold half moons hoops. And guys tired of defending their diamond studs can rest easy: Men have been wearing earrings since ancient egypt, where the jewelry was introduced in 1500B.C.

How did pumps, stilettos, and sneakers get their names? The term pump 1st popped up in the 1550 in England, where male servants wore the style. It is said that the noise they made while wearing the loose-fitting shoes resembled the sound of a water pump. The word "sneaker" entered the language in 1870; the rubber soles made the soles quiet and therefore "Sneaky."
The modern usage of stiletto, a renaissance-era Italian word for an assassin's narrow blade knife, made its debut in 1953. The word turned out to be especially appropriate, because the shoes' pointy heels were murder on wooden floors.

Have women always carried purses? Once upon a time, ladies stored their essentials in a little waist sack tied under their clothing and accessories through slits in their skirts. Around 1800, thinner, silkier fabrics and slimmer cuts came into vogue, and women could not longer hide the bulging sacks around their midsections. The solution? They began carrying their belonging in small pocketbooks instead.

Have bikinis always been so popular? Hardly! Named for the nuclear-testing site Bikini Atoll, the suits first appeared in 1946, but American women thought them immodest. Not until the 1960's were they accepted, possibly helped by the hit song "Itsy bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka-dot Bikini."

Rodney Smith Photography

Spring/Summer Please hurry up! Hurry up. I can't wait for it to get here! I keep dreaming of warm weather. Well, today is Friday the 13th and last month had a Friday the 13th too! Two in a row. What's up with this date anyway? I have never even heard or seen of anything happening. The only thing I know is the movie that is scary but that's it. Does anyone else know any stories that have happened on this day or how this date got so suspicious?

This Bedroom & bathroom aren't part of the home but they look like they could be. These rooms are from Western interiors~

I love all these cotton candy, sea blue and green grass colors! This coastal home is the kind I dream of~ I really like the kitchen and how in the 2an photo the cabinets on the bottom actually have legs on them. I thought that was pretty neat!

~Jennifer Lopez's Restaurant~

Well, last I heard Jennifer closed down the place after she had her twins. So, has anyone actually ate in this restaurant called Madre's located in Pasadena, California? Was it any good? I just fount out that this place was designed by Rachel Ashwell of Shabby Chic! I love her style. I found these photos in her book and she goes to explain that Jennifer envisioned the place as cuban, sexy and romantic. From the photos the restaurant looks very elegant, but I'm not really getting the cuban vibe!

~Gorgeous Kitchen~

Hey~ I hope everyone had a great weekend! In a Western Interiors magazine, I came across this gorgeous kitchen and I just knew I had to share it. Those chandeliers are stunning and the two windows surrounding the stove had such charm. I would have to say that the only one piece of decoration I wouldn't have in the room would be the animal head on the stove range. Not sure what else could be hung there but I'm sure something could be found! Have a great Day!!

~Swedish Style Home~

I've been very lucky lately coming across all of these lovely homes. At the moment it's this Swedish Home that has my attention!! This haven of pale European furnishing bathed in Sunlight is the home of Designer Shannon Bowers. She was inspired by colors found in nature - Robin's egg blue, light sand and the lavendar of hydrangeas which are soothing. It's all so gorgeous!

~Charming and Chic~

Since 1975, Chantal Thomass was the first designer not only to put underwear on the catwalk, but to encourage it to be seen, thus starting the vogue for ‘inside-out’, she has continued to create her distinctive lingerie - a mix of sexy elegance and exquisite lace, with a good, humorous dose of the femme fatale. The inside of her Paris apartment is no differnt mixing the style of eighteenth century Italy with forties French.

~Cath Kidston's Home~

Yes, Take a little peek into the home of Cath Kidston. Most of us know her for her great floral patterns in homeware goods. This house is rather cute but not as stunning as I would have expected coming from her. What do you think? I am wishing I had this striped blue and white couch though!!

~Lazy Sunday~

It's just a lazy O'sunday here with more snow on the ground and just wishing it was warm outside! This spring we are planning to finally do our landscaping outside. Our yard looks like a horror disaster-that's putting it nicely. I have even thought about entering it on HGTV's curb appeal or any type of landscaping show. Actually, I need to do this- It's that bad because our home was new construction 3 years ago and we had to bulldoze a lot of trees just to built our home. So it's extremely bad. How many times can I say that? Well, hope everyone has a great Sunday!!

On another note, I wanted to show everyone this very neat baby foot photo in the momma's belly. It is so adorable. That baby is ready to come!
